Self-Guided walk

To reserve a self-guided walk you should let us know your preferred start date. At that time we ask for a credit card as a guarantee of deposit. When we have this guarantee we contact the hotels and inns along the route and ask them to reserve your room. Once the hotels are confirmed we process a non-refundable deposit of $600. If we cannot confirm all the accommodation no deposit is charged.

Booking information for Self-Guided Camino walks:

Deposit required: 
$600 CAD per person 

Balance due: eight weeks before the start of the holiday.

Payment can be by cheque or credit cardWe accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express.  There is a discount of $50 per person for all final payments paid by cheque   
Cheques should be made out to Teachers' Travel Service Ltd. 
Remember that credit cards sometimes have extra benefits like travel  insurance. You should research this before deciding how to pay 

Prices of holidays are based on current rates of exchange when the brochure is printed. Price is subject to change due to currency fluctuations with a maximum increase of 7%. If price increases more than 7% participants have the right to cancel with full refund.

Alterations to your itinerary: 
Up to the time of final payment it may be possible to alter the itinerary and add extra nights along the way. This will be subject to availability of accommodation.  Once final payment has been made 60 days before the start of the walk no changes can be made.  

Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel your holiday the following penalties apply.
Up to 60 days prior - loss of deposit
60 days to start of holiday 100%

INSURANCE
Teachers’ Travel Service Ltd sells Manulife travel insurance. 
The following are types of travel insurance:

TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE
Trip Cancellation Insurance covers you in case you are forced to cancel your holiday because of emergency reasons. The reasons which are covered include illness, accident, death in the family, illness in the family, quarantine, being called to jury duty and missing a holiday because of flights being cancelled due to bad weather. For full details on this you should read the policy.

This insurance is optional but we recommend that you purchase it if you do not already have insurance. Some travelers have it already as a benefit with their credit card or their employment. The price depends on the cost of your trip, your age and the length of your stay outside the country. Ask for a quote when you book your trip.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL INSURANCE
We ask that every participant on a walking holiday have medical coverage while away from home. If you do not already have this already as a benefit of your employment or your credit card please ask us for a quote. Price depends on your age and the number of days you are out of the country. If you are Canadian this insurance offers unlimited emergency medical cover. If you are an American resident
we suggest you purchase medical insurance from a US insurer. We can recommend several insurance companies.
