3.  Is there a guide?    There is a cycling director on board but he does not cycle with you. Each day the cycling director will explain the route, recommend places to sightsee and let cyclists know the timing so they can meet their floating hotel at the next stop. Cyclists are given instructions and can call if they need help.  (A cell-phone is essential).  The boat will be waiting and there is plenty of time for cyclists to reach that point.

On some holidays guided cycling is offered at additional cost but keep in mind it would be difficult to get lost as the path follows the river and is well marked,

4. How do I get to Passau?  There are frequent trains from Munich to Passau (about two hours).  Before you go you will be given detailed instructions on finding the Swiss Crown or Vivienne at the Passau docking area which is not far from the train station.  Direct transfers from Munich Airport to the ship in Passau can be booked at additional cost of 300 euros (per taxi). 

5. Can the boat cater to a special diet such as vegetarian or gluten free?   Yes but you should let us know in advance. 

6. What nationalities can I expect?   The guests will be from many countries. Usually it is a mix of German, British, Canadian, American.  Guests are of all ages.  The crew will be multilingual.

7. What sort of bicycles are used?   21 speed unisex (ladies' mount). For men over 186 cm mens'  frame is available. Bicycles have caliper brakes and override, pannier, lock, air pump, repair kit.  Ebikes are available at extra cost.

8. How early should I book?  These holidays are very popular and space is limited, .

9. Should I take my own helmet?   New helmets are for sale on board the boats but if possible it is best to take your own.
