Derbyshire is centrally located in the heart of England and offers beautiful countryside with limestone gorges, green fields and flower-studded pastures.  The region has an interesting industrial past with many romantic stories. Discover the quaint local custom of "well-dressing" in small villages. 

2019 Dates: Classic Walking Holidays start every Friday from May to October. Walkers stay at the same hotel for seven nights. Days start and end with a short bus ride so the walks are in the most spectacular parts of the island.  Three different guided walks are offered each day. You choose according to your fitness and ability.

Prices:    Book before Oct 31       779 GBP per person for one week based on double occupancy. Book after Oct 31 - the price is 879 GBP.
Non-member associate fee            10 GBP per person.
Single rooms with no single supplement are offered but with limited availability.

A special GENTLE WALKING HOLIDAY is offered 30 Aug - 06 Sept.   

Walking:  A choice of three guided walks is offered each day.

    Easier walks         5.75 8.25 miles.   up to 750 ft of ascent in a day.

    Medium  walks      9 - 10.75 miles      up to 1,075 ft of ascent in a day 

    Harder walks        11.5 -12.5 miles      up to 1,525 ft of ascent in a day.

When you are not walking
Not far from Thorpe is magnificent Chatsworth House that has been the setting for many films such as Pride and Prejudice. .

ACCOMMODATION:
PEVERIL OF THE PEAK
occupies a wonderful position in the village of Thorpe. Named after the novel by Sir Walter Scott, the building dates from the 1830's.  It offers excellent facilities and is surrounded by extensive grounds. Standard rooms have private bath, TV, hairdryer.  Premium rooms are larger or have wonderful views.
 All meals are included. with a generous self-select picnic lunch and three-course evening meal including a vegetarian option..
