Guided Walking in Europe

BAVARIA, GERMANY

Tegernsee is often referred to as Bavaria’s Lake District and is an area largely undiscovered by English-speaking visitors, although this is Germany’s most popular holiday destination. Tegernsee is situated in the foothills of the high European Alps, close to the border with Austria. Consequently, our walks enjoy the advantage of remarkable views, achieved without the effort required in the higher Alpine regions. On many of the walks, we will visit traditional Alpine Gasthofs for our rest stops and sample the local fare popular with generations of walkers. Additionally, the peace and serenity of the lakeside at our carefully chosen resort of Bad Wiessee will provide lasting memories. This area has a vast network of good paths due to its walking heritage as a spa and health resort.
