FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How do I get from Florence Airport to the Rail Station?  It is about a twenty minute taxi ride or there are shuttle buses called "Vola In Bus". Florence is a small airport so it is easy to spot the bus at the entrance to the airport. One way bus tickets cost 6 euros.

If I go a day early where should I stay?   The rail station (Santa Maria Novella Station) is just a few minutes walk from the centre of Old Florence. There are many three and four star hotels within a few blocks of the station and from there you can easily walk into the historic part of the city. The Hotel Ariele is a good three star hotel.

If I want to see the Uffizzi Gallery in Florence should I book in advance?  Yes. If you don't buy tickets in advance you will have to wait in a long line.  You can buy tickets from the gallery website for specific entry times.  If you want a guided tour of the gallery you can book this and other tours of Florence  through www.viator.com

What weather can I expect?  Late September and October is the best times for walking in Tuscany. Usually it is warm but not too hot with an average temperature of about 22C. Rain is possible but neither months are considered the rainy season,

How many people are in a group?   Our maximum number is 21.

What if I am vegetarian?   If you tell us in advance when you book, arrangements can be made to cater to vegetarians.

How difficult are the walks?  On days when we are walking in the countryside there are two guides.  One guide will take those guests who want a little more challenging hike which could be 12 km with some ascent.  The other guide will accompany those who want a more leisurely walk which will usually be about 7 km with little ascent. The pace is leisurely. We are there to enjoy the scenery.

How do I leave from Pisa?   From Pisa there are trains to most Italian cities or flights to Rome so you can connect to an international flight.
