Walkers' World
Guided Walking and Sightseeing

2017 Dates:

Jan 16 - 30, 2017
Feb 20 - March 06, 2017

Christopher Columbus described the island of Cuba as ‘the most lovely that eyes have ever seen’ and believed it to be fabled Cathay.

Our explorations start in Havana with its architectural treasures, top-notch museums, gracious promenades, wonderful music, friendly people, vintage cars and a unique revolutionary culture. We continue to the National Parks of Western Cuba. Here, Cuba’s emphasis on conservation-conscious ecotourism has preserved timeless rural beauty. A network of walking trails wanders amid tropical forest that is home to wild orchids and exotic birds. A nature lover’s delight, the terrain is not mountainous but hilly enough to create a beautiful landscape for easy to moderate walking. Next we transfer by private bus to a beach-front hotel near the colonial town of Trinidad. History abounds - we hear tales of wealthy sugar-barons, runaway slaves, Che Guevera's revolutionary exploits, African voodoo and pirates of the Spanish Main. Our walks are through former coffee plantations and in the lovely and remote Sierra del Escambray.

Our holiday ends back in Havana. If you would like to extend your stay in sunny Cuba and escape Canadian winter there are options for either a one week CubaCruise departing from Havana or for extra days at the beach resort of Varadero.
