Western Yorkshire Dales     Sedbergh  

The Howgill Fells (hills) rise to over 2,000ft above the grey-slate roofs of the village of Sedbergh and offer hikes over wide-open landscapes. Explore paths along the valley floor, through typical Dales villages, to Whernside, the highest of Yorkshire's Three Peaks. There are magnificent waterfalls, including Hardraw Force and Aysgarth Falls, plus the impressive Bolton Castle waiting to be discovered.

2021 Walking Holidays: Classic Walking Holidays start every Saturday from May through October. Walkers stay at the same hotel for seven nights. Days start and end with a short bus ride so the walks are in the most spectacular parts of the island.  Two different guided walks are offered each day. You choose according to your fitness and ability.

Prices start at 8459 GBP (Great Britain Pounds) per person for one week based on double occupancy (approximately $1475 Cdn)..
Non-member associate fee            10 GBP per person.
Single rooms with no single supplement are offered but with limited availability.

Three meals a day
Guided walking programme with a choice of three walks daily
Transportation in conjunction with the walks

Walking:  A choice of two guided walks is offered each day.

  •    Easier walks         6 – 8.5 miles.      Up to 650 ft of ascent over a day.
  •     Harder walks        9.5 -11.5 miles    Up to 2,125 ft of ascent over a day.

When you are not walking: 
Sedburgh is a small and friendly market town and nearby are Wensleydale and Swaledale made famous by James Herriott.. You can ride the most scenic railway in Britain from Settle to Carlisle or visit the stately Levens Hall with its beautiful garden.
 
ACCOMMODATION
THORNS HALL.
With its unique ambience and peaceful location, Thorns Hall will appeal to anyone in search of a relaxing break.  Dating from 1535 this small manor house retains its historic charm with cozy public rooms, wood paneling and open fires.  Situated a few minutes' walk from the centre of Sedbergh, at the foot of the Howgill Fells, it offers pleasant views and great walks from the doorstep.


All meals are included. Enjoy a generous self-select picnic lunch and three-course evening meal including a vegetarian option.
