Guided Walking in Britain

South Yorkshire Dales     Malhamdale

The Yorkshire Dales are located in North-Central England not far from the Scottish border. The rugged Yorkshire Dales National Park is rich in wild-flowers and waterfalls and is excellent hiking country. We stay at lovely Malhamdale for a week of exploring this fabled region... the home of the Brontes and James Herriot. On our walks we visit the graceful ruins of Bolton Abbey; Studley Royal Estate and its water gardens.

2021: Guided walking holidays start Fridays from March - November.

When you are not walking:    There is much history in the region. Step back in time at East Riddlesden Hall, built during the Civil War by a passionate Royalist, with its dramatic history and panoply of ghosts. Yorkshire is steeped in history and tradition with attractions like Skipton Castle, one of Britain’s best-preserved medieval castles. This is Bronte country - the home of the Bronte sisters and the setting for the novels Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights.

Accommodation   NEWFIELD HALL. Retaining its 19th century grandeur, Newfield Hall is HF Holidays' most stately Country House and is an excellent base for exploring Malhamdale and the rest of the national park.
