When you are not walking: There is much history in
the region. Step back in time at East Riddlesden Hall, built during the Civil War by a passionate Royalist, with its
dramatic history and panoply of ghosts. Yorkshire is steeped in history and
tradition with attractions like Skipton Castle, one of Britain’s
best-preserved medieval castles. This is Bronte country - the home of the Bronte
sisters and the setting for the novels Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights.
