This walking location overlooks Coniston Water (lake) with stunning mountain and lake views. On the walks you can ascend the famous summits of the Old Man of Coniston and the Langdale Pikes or walk by lakes and tarns and visit the attractive villages of Grasmere and Hawkshead. 

2022  Dates: One week walking holidays start Fridays from May - September

Prices start from 940 GBP (Great Britain Pounds) per person for one week based on double occupancy  (approximately $1650 Cdn)
Non-member associate fee            30 GBP per person (approximately $50 Cdn).
Single rooms with no single supplement are offered but with limited availability.

Seven nights first class accommodation with private bath
Three meals a day
Guided walking programme with a choice of three walks daily
Transportation in conjunction with the walks
Taxes
   

Walkers stay at the same hotel for a week. Days start and end with a short bus ride so the walks are in the most spectacular parts of the region.  Three different guided walks (hikes) are offered each day (easy, moderate or challenging). You choose according to your fitness and ability. You can change walking levels each day if you wish.

A choice of three guided walks is offered each day.

Low level walks: 6 – 9 miles                         12500 ft of ascent.

Medium walks   7 – 10.5 miles                      2550 ft of ascent

Harder walks     8.5 – 12.5  miles                   3800 ft of ascent

When you are not walking:  Discover the area's literary connections with Wordsworth, Ruskin and Beatrix Potter. 


ACCOMMODATION:
MONK CONISTON i
s a romantic Gothic style 32 room Country House, complete with a minstrels' gallery, ornate public rooms and a traditional 17th century barn used for activities such as painting and dancing.  Once owned by Beatrix Potter, this historic building occupies a premier Lake District location with lovely grounds including an extensive  garden that slopes down to the lake. There are glorious views of Conistonwater and the surrounding fells.

Rooms have private bath, free wifi, TV and hairdryer.

All meals are included with a generous self-select picnic lunch and three-course evening meal including a vegetarian option..
